The principal consultant with PR Loyalty Solutions, Peter Roundhill, is a social entrepreneur with a degree in both Economics and Political science; an MBA specializing in entrepreneurship, customer loyalty and reward programs; and a certificate in Community Economic Development (CED). His Masters’ degree thesis was on customer loyalty programs and the design of a community-based program.
Peter is a consulting professional with experience in international educational, non-profit and small business management, as well as social enterprise, banking, electronic card payment systems, and loyalty marketing research. Through his past work, Peter has experience in customer satisfaction index design and management, electronic card payment project management, e-commerce, graphic design, human resource training and communications.
In addition to customer loyalty and social enterprise business planning expertise, Peter also has a background in socially responsible procurement practices, having been both the lead consultant on a project for Vancity Credit Union and a major contributor to Canada’s Social Enterprise Purchasing Toolkit (see www.sepurchasing.ca).
Past Work Background
Peter has a broad background in business, international education, non-profit management, electronic payment systems and social enterprise consulting. He worked as an Operations Director for Britannica’s International Masters Academy, an international ESL language school in Japan (1997 to 2001), before becoming the Executive Director of Camp Pringle, a non-profit United Church residential camp located at Shawnigan Lake just outside Victoria (2002-2005).
After finishing his term as a non-profit Executive Director, Peter completed his MBA from the University of Victoria (2005-2007) before working for Vancity Credit Union (2007-2011), first as a Business Development Specialist in their Visa department where he was responsible for their pre-paid Visa card program (a product used at the time by West Edmonton Mall for their mall gift card program, by the Canadian Automobile Association for their travel Visa card program, and by both small and major businesses nation-wide as part of their employee and customer rewards programs).
Peter later worked as a Social Enterprise Development Specialist for Enterprising Non-Profits (enp), a leading Canadian social enterprise supporting organization based out of the Vancity Community Foundation (but supported by a collaboration of other funding agencies including Coast Capital Savings and the Vancouver Foundation).
Peter grew up in the Okanagan, lived in Victoria for over 10 years, has lived in Mexico, Japan and Europe, and now resides with his wife and two young children in North Vancouver, BC. Peter is a member of the Rotary Club of Lions Gate (2011 Club of the Year), Toastmasters International (where he has been an award winning speaker at the provincial level), and Loco BC (a BALLE-affiliated organization working to create a diverse, vibrant local economy by strengthening small and mid-sized businesses).
